I have to write a paper that sounds like a political speech for my Political Science class. I don't know what I should write for the intro.Any ideas?

A very interesting way, depending on the topic, is to insult the audience. For example:
Say you are giving a speech on building a new prison. You could start out by saying.
"Well we're here today to discuss building a new prison. But we wouldn't have had to do that if you would have voted for the preventative programs that would have cost us a whole lot less.
It's kinda the "Ask not what you're country can do for you speech" Kennedy gave at his inaugural.

It's a political stand, it's edgey, and it grabs attention.
