Why does your doctor want to induce labor? If it is for medical reasons, then do it, but if it is for convenience, I would say wait. My son was born at 38 1/2 weeks after being induced and had some initial breathing issues. I feel like, had he had another few days, that may have not been an issue. I am now a firm believer that you should not induce before your due date unless there is a medical reason for it.
By the way, the loss of the mucus plug is natural and will not cause infection. Unless your membranes are ruptured (a.k.a. your water has broken) there is no way for bacteria to get to your baby, so infection should not be an issue.
Best wishes for a quick and easy labor and a healthy baby!

How long have you been without your mucus plug? If you just lost it, then no... you can go a few weeks without a mucus plug as long as your water hasnt broken (in that case, yes get induced).... if you lost your mucus plug at 29 weeks, then yeah go ahead and get induced if its what your doctor suggests.

it def needs to depend on why your doctor wants to induce you. what everyone is saying is SO true. i swear, doctors get hasty, and DON"T ALWAYS KNOW BEST! if doc can give you concrete reasons why this is going to effect your babies health or yours, then do it. otherwise, forget about it. i have NEVER heard of an induced birth that went smoothly or as planned. my best friend suffered terribly because of an induced labor, and the reason the doctor told her was because the baby was too small. it came out almost 7 lbs, which is FINE! be rational.
if you or your baby are not in danger then let nature take its course!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of inducing labor. I was induced twice, and had a retained placenta both times. The second time was so serious they had to do a D&C on me while I was still on the table. I lost 1000 cc's of blood, and I know it was because they used pitocin on me. The placenta wasn't seasoned, and the pitocin can't fake that. You still have a couple of weeks. I know it's hard to wait, but I would if I was you.

i become 40 weeks pregnant as quickly as I lost my mucus plug. i did not have the toddler for yet another week. He never dropped. i become in hard artwork for 4 hours. Had a organic beginning. I had a 9lb 1oz toddler boy. stop stressing. it will ensue. Stressing in basic terms makes it greater stable on you. relax!!! it quite is 2008, they don't in basic terms bounce to a c-area for the reason which you're over-due. they could positioned you on an IV and positioned some medicine to set off you, yet do not worry. i've got had 3 young toddlers, 2 have been brought about. The final one, i become 40-one weeks pregnant and it become one hundred% organic. stable luck. you will see that perfect toddler that's been kickin the fireplace out of you very quickly.

No mucus plug is not good. It can cause infection and disease. It could potentially harm your unborn baby. If the doctor feels you need to be induce then go for it.
