Ironing suede will flatten the nap so that it's no longer suede. If you've got really bad wrinkles in it, try using a clothing steamer to relax them--hang the item first so the weight of the fabric helps to pull the wrinkles out. If you don't have a steamer, hang the fabric in the bathroom and steam up the shower really well--let it sit in there for a while and that should help.

Press on the suede side only. Most wrinkles will fall out when left in a steamy bathroom. When pressing, use a dry iron set at a low temperature, with a brown wrapping paper used as a pressing cloth. Press lightly and quickly to prevent overheating and shine.

I agree, you don't.

But if you must . . . I would suggest a soft towel on your ironing board, the suede NAP SIDE DOWN on the towel, another, thinner towel (maybe a kitchen towel) on top of that, and a medium iron. No steam! Try this method on an easily hidden part of the garment before tackling the whole thing.

If it is a very expensive piece, take it to the dry cleaners.

(all this assumes it is proper leather, not "suede-like")

You don't iron suede. That will ruin it. For suede you need to raise the knap on it, up. You do that will a fine steel hair brush. Talk to your local leather shop, they will have a kit that you can buy just for cleaning suede
