I don't know what you should make but if having down syndrome is "funny" to you then something is wrong. I wouldn't do that because you will offend so many people.

One year I was called last minute to a halloween party. With no costume ready, I improvised. I got an old sweater and trousers, and ripped small holes in them. Then I applied black theatrical make-up on my skin under the little rips and smeared some on my face. I teased my hair and used hair spray to make it stand straight up. At the party everyone asked what the hell I was and I said "I was in an explosion"! LOL I was the hit of the party.

Um, maybe you should skip the going out with a costume this year, and hand out candy....see how the children that get a kick out of this react..Sorry to burst your bubble, but take a look at the children and their parents heading toward your house for a little bit of fun.

I live in rural north Ga, 15 minutes from any town. My 2 sons & their cousin caused phone calls into town to tell everyone to come to our place. Here's what we did (& still do for our trick-r-treaters...& parents)
Turn off all lights inside & outside house, use candles on front porch & few pumpkins carved w/lit candle's inside & w/front door open leading up stairs with a few candles sitting on steps for light,a tape recorder plays on outside upstairs deck/balcony w/ the spooky music, etc. They built a wooden box like a coffin 6ft long, one of the boys laid down in it dressed in overalls & old flannel shirt, long sleeved & old work gloves,& w/mask & hair so they wouldn't know it was actually real & we stuffed handfulls of hay all around him for coffin lining...the tricker/treaters would touch it & he'd raise in a sit up position & mur-mur in a goulish "don't do that I'm dead"& theyd scream & jump & some fall off the porch...then while their attention was on the coffin, my oldest son & his cousin-seniors in high school slipped out from carport-had overalls on & white shirts, cheapo brown cotton gloves & white mask like ole Freddy Krueger. Earlier in day they took the chain off our chain saw & had it ready to pull the cord. Soon as I gave the grownup & little kids their treats---my sons-big boys were standing between the kids & the cars the kids were going to return to..Chain saw would crank, boys made no sound but to look at them thru the white mask, kids screaming & crying...some pee'd in their pants, some took off running across my big yard the wrong way....their parents was rolling in laughter at how spooked & scared their kids really were--at this Freddie Movie they watched over & over.
That was yrs ago & I still get calls the week of Halloween asking us to please do that all over again just like we did that one particulair October 31st...and by all means-stay & be safe

You think a down sydrome kid is funny?
that's offensive on so many levels.
But anyways.
You should wear a frilly dress. [works for guy or girl] and wear a michael jackson mask.
tada.
lame but funny costume

You could go as Michael Jackson and put black veils on your friends and they go as his children.

Or you take cardboard and make it look like an Ipod and put a large letter P on both of your friends. Yoor two P's with a pod (two peas in a pod)

Or all of you dress in regular clothes and carry signs like protesters that say "Nudist - on strike"

the best idea I ever had was.....

- go to your local charity shop....
- buy two sets of clothes... one fully male... the other fully female...
- lay them out as they would be worn and cut them both in half...
- sew opposite halves together...
- there you go... you're half man half woman... so get a wig and cut it in half and gel your gair right back on the other.... pencil in a moustage and rouge the other half of your face... this won me fancy dress comps all over the place!

Works great if you have a friend about your size who can wear the other halves as an opposite of you!!! very freaky!

Good luck!
