I believe it is certainly true some of the time. People who have been taught to believe that homosexuality is a big sin, bigger by far than premarital heterosexuality, can get a bit neurotic -- sometimes more than a bit -- if they feel the slightest stirring of interest in the same sex. I also think it is a way to "prove" to their comrades that they are not themselves homosexual.
Having said that, I doubt this answer is true in all cases. Often, it is because they want to feel powerful when in fact they do not. It's not so much about who they are bashing, but that they are bashing. They perceive homosexuals as less manly, therefore less strong and able to defend themselves. The answer, of course, is for homosexuals to learn self-defense. Take a course in judo and scare the whatever out of them the next time they threaten you!

There was a study conducted where inmates who beat up gays where shown gay porno movies. About 70% of them got aroused. So I think that in most cases it is true.

i think your right the want so bad to prove they aren't really gay and that's the best way they can think of. plus it allows them to touch another man, and they probably go home an fantasize about it . i bet that gets them really hot
