Advantages:
Not many (if any) tourists. You don't have to deal with crowds
Great views of wildlife (penguins, etc) and nature--beautiful glaciers

Disadvantages:
Cold!
Very expensive to get to. Average cruise costs are $6-10,000.
Other than traveling by ship, difficult if not impossible to get to.
