is your check engine light on? this vehicle has on board diagnostic capabilities for seting a obd 2 code for a failed thermostat.there is also a secondary electris coolant pump on the market to get more circulation to the rear heater.also check the coolant level in the rad-do not open cap if engine is hot.

A few things it may be first of all does the gauge come up if so either the coolant is low or you have a stopped up heater core and if the gauge stays low you have a stuck open thermostat. If you suspect a clogged heater hose check the hoses at the firewall and see if they are warm both of them. One hot and the other is not plugged up heater core have it power flushed a regular flush if it works at all will only be temporary

you most likely need a blower motor resistor, this is down under the dash near the blower motor and will be attached with two screws. there should be a plug with 5 or seven wires going into it and the plug with the wiring for the blower motor will also go to this, this is a common problem with gm's. if the plug to the resistor is burnt or melted or the wires are bare in the vicinity of the pigtail you will need to replace this as well. if you take off the plug with more wires on the resistor, if you use a test light attached to a good ground, and it lights when you touch the terminal of the large red wire,(switch on or off) then you have circuit integrity to the resistor. if you test across the plug at the blower motor and there is nothing(switch on) the resistor is bad. hope this helps.

i own a repair shop, and it sounds like it has a bad thermostat in it,when they get old they open up to fast and don't make the engine warm up he way it should do,, id replace it and then see if it does good ,if not it may be the water pump fins getting worn out on it,and it wont circulate the coolant real good i have Seen a lot of that this year, water pumps don't always leak when there bad ,good luck i hope this help,s.

my personal 02 venture has a 3.4 v6 in it, theyre good for intake gaskets leaking, check your antifreeze, if it's low take it to the shop and have your intake gaskets checked, don't forget to call your dealer and ask about the extended warranty, this goes for all gm cars with the 2.8, 3.1, 3.4 and 3.5 liter v6 in it, very common problem
