I beg to differ with the others who have answered. You see, a 3.0 GPA would be equivalent to a B. Having nearly an 89 average, that would be more like a B+, and therefore higher than a 3.0. According to the grade converter at:
http://www.wesleyan.edu/crc/toolkit/credentials/grades.html
A numeric grade of 88.3 (very close to yours) is equivalent to a B+ letter grade, which is equivalent to a 3.3 GPA.
Way to go!

I'm not sure there's a good formula for that - GPA is usually based on the following:
A = 4 grade points
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0
Since an F may come when you get a 60 to a 70 (depending on your school's or teacher's individual grading scale), it's not as easy as "dividing by 25."
Right now, in many schools (where 90/80/70/60 are letter cutoffs), you're a "high B" student, so yours might be approximately 3.4 or so.

To find your GPA, you look at your report card.
A=4 (5)
B=3 (4)
C=2 (3)
D=1 (2)
F=0
(Numbers in parentheses are if the class is weighed or AP)
Add the numbers up and divide by how many classes you have. The number you get will be your GPA.

I had a very similar average. You probably got slightly more B's than A's. B's count for 3 points, and A's count for 4. So I'd say your GPA is around 3.4
