people get beat up because some bigot thinks they MAY be gay or have gay friends. Happened to my son this past summer. And he isn't gay.

If I were you I would have reformulated the question in this form:
"Have you ever been beaten up because you're gay?"
you got answers about your choice of word "lifestyle" and I don't wanna explain that to you...
to answer your question, no I've not been beaten up... but you don't wanna mess around with me... I know various ways of ending someone's life (from boxing to chemistry and spiritually too), so you really don't want to mess with me!

Lifestyle makes it sound like a choice, and it's not. But yes, I have been beaten up because I'm gay-BEFORE I even came out of the closet.

Well, to tell you the truth, you're pathetic.
There is NO SUCH THING as a "gay lifestyle."
I don't drive a "gay" car, I don't have a "gay" career, I don't live in a "gay" house, I don't buy "gay" clothes or furnashings.
If being a mother of a teenage son, volunteering at a teen center in my community, working at my career, being a good friend and devoted partner is in anyway "gay" than so are you!

yep! not fun and no repercussions for the perps as they were never caught, but that is fine... I beat them in the end as I AM stronger than them in my convictions!
