I have uninstalled and re-installed my printer and it still will not work. It says something about not finding my plug and play.

Do you have a driver CD for the printer?

If not, try the manufacturer's web site. HP, for example is very good about drivers for their printers.

You might tell us what operating system you are running and what model of printer you have.

If you did not obtain a USB cable for a print you might have to pick it up. I find it moronic that you have to buy it seperate for every printer, even if it's a $400 one. You can use the cable from your old printer if you still have it.

Also you can try to Add New Hardware...Go to Start, Settings, Add New Hardware and go through those steps.

Also check your Device Manager to see if something is wrong with the printer.

Make sure your printer is set as the default in your Printer and Faxes folder as well.

1. Try a different USB port.

2. Click Start, Control Panel. In Classic view, double-click Printers and Faxes and ckeck to see if the printer is listed there.

Did you read the manual? If you can't find anything in the manual, go to the website of the manufacturer of the printer, they have online help pages. Some have question/anser section.
