When was the last time you had a tune-up? There are plenty of possible troubles this could be. When was the last time you replaced the PCV valve? With Chevy's you should replace them every 10,000 miles. Bad or dirty PCV valves will masquerade as other problems. Some people just clean them, I just replace them. One of my friends was a Chevy dealer mechanic & he replaces his every 10-12K miles.

When It wont start, try pouring a very small amount of gas into the intake, and then turn it over to see it it starts. Don't turn the engine over while you are pouring gas into it, as you can get burned bad! If it fires, then you have a fuel problem, if it still don't start, then check out the iginition control module. A plugged fuel filter can do this, as well as bad spark plugs. There are many things that can do this. There is a valve on the rail that is a test valve that looks like a valve on your tires. It should have pressure on it in order to start, but you need a way to test the pressure. There should be about 50-60 lbs. of pressure when you are starting the engine and it will drop off by 8-10 lbs. once it is running. As for the relay; With the engine off, turn on the ignition switch and listen to see if you hear the fuel pump come on for about 2 seconds and shut off. If you do, then you can rule out the relay. A problem with one not starting at times can drive even a good mechanic to drinking. Many things can be at fault, and there just aren't any way of telling if the thing is working fine when a mechanic looks at it. A good tune up is the first step to the problem solution. Changing the filters is another. One must have three things in order for an engine to run. 1. compression 2. fuel 3. fire. A good cleaning of the battery terminals to make sure the computer is getting its needs met will also help. Some of them you want to keep powered up with a suppy while you clean them, due to your radio anti-theft. Hope this is a help to you. Good Luck!!!

Diagnose it yourself. When it will not start have someone kick the fuel tank if it starts then put a fuel pump in it and look at the wire end at the pump and make sure it is in great shape. If it still dont start check for spark by pulling a plug wire off and shove a screwdriver in the end and hold it close to metal on the engine and back to the fuel test another way is to spray some carb cleaner down the throat while cranking it and if she fires then fuel pump or bad wires at the pump. If you have a fuel pressure tester you can skip all the other stuff but only ckeck the fuel pressure when it wont start.

It's unlikely that the fuel pump is faulty. You may have a short in the Ignition Control Module. I repaired a few GM's w/ your symptoms and that cleared it right up. After the owner's spent 100's at other shops whose mechanics just start replacing parts instead of troubleshooting the problem and using common sense.

examine the starter first, it would desire to be happening the grounds which you state it does not turn over at cases. Secondly, examine the gasoline pump, yet i could think of you are able to have stall/hessitation themes on an identical time as employing throttle. Thirdly, given the chilly climate, i could examine your battery, if that's older, it would desire to no longer have sufficient CCA (chilly cranking amps) to get the motor vehicle started. i could examine those out first in the previous dabbling into the greater complicated suff
