These days, publishing houses work with seasoned authors. The best thing to do is self-publish. With the computers we have today, you can crank out a top quality product. I suggest you see Dan Poynters website regarding self-publishing. He has so much information, it'll make your head spin. Don't go with online publishers, they promise your book will be published for a high fee, it is a rip-off/scam. You also need to market your book.
Also, do you belong to a writing class or group to critique your book before it is put into print? I suggest you do that. There is a lot to writing and publishing. Books in the library help and so does Dan's site.
