I Think all people fell discriminated against at one point or another. However, homosexuals have alot of choices (in certain states) that thier not allowed to make. Who wants to be told that you can't share you'r life with the person you love most. That laws protecting a married couples benifits, insurance, property, and custody exclude your relationship simply because of your partners gender. Do you want to turn on the television to see your sexuality and rights to do what every other person does up for debate again. Television, newspapers, and political debates all can show how discrimination is still a large part of thier lifes.

I would like to know the same thing. People are discriminated against because they are a certain race, color, religion or disability. These are all things that someone cannot help or change.

Gays can turn on and off their gayness if they were in a situation where they HAD to. But for example, a black person cannot change their color if they had to. A paralyzed person cannot get up and walk if they needed to. These 2 things are irreversible and cannot be changed so therefore I can see how these groups can get discriminated against.

When people lose their jobs, their lives over who they are that is discrimination, lots of people are discriminated against, have you ever lost anything because of who you are? Why don't you look things up online before you post a question again? Or are you just going to post more of a prejudicial comment at the end of this question, too, because someone hit a nerve????

They are being discriminated against. Not by everyone but there are many cultures where homosexuality isn't tolerated. There are also people who consider it a sin and instead of minding their own business they try and get laws to stop GLB from being able to love who they want to.

This is an area in which I have considerable personal experience having 2 gay people in my family. The real problem is that terms and expectations don't mean the same thing to gay people and straight people particularly where society is concerned.

When gay rights organization say they want toleration what they really want is acceptance. Acceptance is something many of us can not give for various reasons. However anything less than acceptance will be viewed by the gay community as being intolerant thus the easy step to viewing our lack of acceptance as evil and discriminating.

It has been my experience that we are much more tolerant of gays than they are of us. Any expression of honest disagreement will bring a crecendo of damnation and name calling as if labeling someone with an honest difference of opinion a homophobe means you don't have to listen to their ideas.

Because many are discriminated. Homosexuals have come along way but in many ways they still have a longer way to go to be fully accepted. As long as there are rednecks, holy rollin' bible beaters & homosexuals, there will be conflict.
I don't understand why USA makes such a big deal about sexual gender yet in Europe it is widely accepted & just understood.

Well, if you actually think about it homosexuals are being discriminated against. I'm not homophobic, but I'd rather not be enlightened on what's happening in thee gay community. For example, October 11th being national coming out day. That was unnecessary.

Some people DO discriminate against them for no real reason in particular. They must feel alienated at times from the constant scrutiny, so I don't blame them.

because in many cases they are. just like in many cases women are. until everyone and every couple is treated and accepted as equals there'll be discrimination. some of it might be under the surface such as the looks they get when they show affection towards eachother in public but not all of it is beneath the surface.

It's true they are being discriminated against. Some people believe that it is wrong for someone to be homosexual, but I feel like if that's your preference so be it. Itdoesnt relly matter .It is what GOD thinks that matters!!!!!! Thanks for your great question.
