Smith- he's a better passer to begin with and SF's running game will get stuffed by the Chargers D, forcing him to throw more.

Young isn't gonna get more than one TD most weeks- he plays like a rookie, albeit a very athletic one.

Tough call. Smith plays the Chargers, which is one of the best defenses. Young plays the Cowboys. Better matchup but Young isn't as good.

I'd probably roll the dice and play Young based on matchup. Smith could have a really good game against the Chargers, but 49ers aren't playing well against good defenses. Young could always explode one game as a rookie. Depends on how much risk you're willing to take.

The safe route is to start Smith and hope for the best.

Alex Smith he is having a much better year. Washingtons d isnt going to give Young anything
