Try the African American Baby Name Book by Teresa Norman

or do a search for african american baby names in yahoo or google.

I don't think this is a racist question. I think that people want their babys' names to have meanings, and maybe some black people want their child to have a name tied to his/her African roots. Those names are not going to be found in your average Baby Name book because there are too many of them, which is why a book for a specific, targeted audience might be necessary.

Well,

I did find some African Baby Names at BabyCenter. The names look difficult to pronounce at most. I hope if you decide on one of these names you baby can spell and pronounce it too.

This is not meant to be mean, just a fact. Find a name that he/she will love and will reflect on his/her personality. A certain name will attach itself to that baby for life and will more likely than not determine their personality.

Keep the name simple.

Hope this has helped you.
