Buy several "gro lights." You can get them in incandescent at Wal Mart were they keep the light bulbs, or you can buy a florescent fixture that plugs into the wall. Fluorescent is harder to find but doesn't get hot and is less expensive to operate, and it doesn't specifically have to be a gro light -- a cool white lamp (has a bluish tint) should work alright too. You can buy power strips with timers from Home Depot if you don't want to manually turn it on and off every day. I keep an ornamental tree that I grew from seed for years ago in my closet every winter this way since it's cold sensitive so I have to bring it inside and my cats will eat it if I leave it out.

African Violets need low light, such as coming thru a curtain at window. Don't spray the plant as it will spot the leaves. Don't let the plant sit in water,it will kill it.

An ultra violet light may be your answer but I would consult a garden centre or a gardening website

A florescent lite will do, but garden centers have ones specifically for plants.
