tell him to get a job. He has to keep it. And if he hates it, say that's about as good as it gets if you don't get an education. Tell him whether or not he get's A's or D's doesn't affect your paycheck, but it could affect HIS. Also, remind him that he needs to be ready to 'fly' on his own when he's 18, cause this ain't no soup kitchen.

It is a very sad situation today and I pity parents who have to go thru with this ... what you are talking about.. I say.. TODAY because schooling here in the U.S. is very different than it is in other countries. I have my degrees in Eduction but would NEVER NEVER consider teaching because I am so much against the curriculum today. It is NOT conducive to getting a child to learn.. The days of the readin, writing, 'rithmatic are gone and in place of that is human relations.. sex education,,,, and other worthless subjects that do not prepare a child for the world that he/she will be faced with. Peer pressure is great and it is geared to materialistic things.. to having fun... and a disguting diminishing regard for education.

Don't push him too hard. May be he can be good at practical skills. There are millions of educated unskilled youths are struggling for job. Find out his interest and let him work as an assistant under somone in his line. This will help him to live a happy and honest life.

His view is also right.
But with Education he can do every thing better.
Make him understand this with loving words.
There is another way our Vethathiri Maharishi told.
Both parents should bless him together in the early morning and night for 45 days. Change will occur.

You did not tell your child's age. If he can understand by seeing people, show him the persons who have risen to top levels due to studies. If he is a kid, when ever you give him/ present him anything tell him and make him understand waht efforts you have put in to do this. If he is grown up, well he does not need your help. If he fails to listen, it is his bad luck.

Not all children need to have academic-bent of mind; find what your child is interested in, and chalk out a path on those lines. Many great scientists have been very poor academically!

Being an orphan is NOT the childs fault and has nothing to do with education. It's the result of them having no parents !

well, i would try to set an example. like show your intrest in education and talk about how it has helped you or how if at one time you were "caosting" through school you might explain how it disadvantaged you. peole learn from mistakes and examples.
