Children are being sent to live with abusive parents just because they have more money! I have seen it repeatedly. The judge doesn't care about kids. He only cares about the parent with the best lawyer (usually the father) or he has the only lawyer. There are no pro bono lawyers, legal aid or women's groups for poor moms to turn to for help. I think being an election year should make the lawmakers more accessible, but how?

Gather a group of mom's & dad's who have lost custody due to financial problems.
Get a petition & take it to several counties, the more signatures the better. Then get it to your governor and senator. Even if you have to go to an election rally to do it. That'll get you in the news.

The first thing you have to do is talk with your congress man he writes the Bills that go to congress. He will be able to help you a lot more. If the kids are being abused has it been docmented by police or hospitals something to show proof. Another thing is talk with the attorney general over the childsupport devision they might shed some light on what to do for the mom if she can prove abuse by the father. you might want to try to get a goverment grant to open a small lawyers office for the poorer parent. go through the public see what they say, if you ask they might come out and help.

No, the newborn protection Act would not flow that far: who's a newborn a newborn is a man or woman under 18 years. 21A Unborn toddlers (a million) This area applies if, earlier the start of a newborn, the supervisor govt somewhat suspects the newborn may be in desire of protection AFTER he or she is born. (2) the supervisor govt could take the action the supervisor govt considers suitable which comprise, for example— (a) having an authorized officer check out the circumstances and verify the probability that the newborn will desire protection AFTER he or she is born; or (b) offering help and help to the pregnant lady. (3) the point of this area is to shrink the probability that the newborn will desire protection AFTER he or she is born (as adversarial to interfering with the pregnant lady’s rights or liberties). The Act would not supply for interference with a pregnant lady, save "offering help and help". it incredibly is it. Is a slippery slope: could a pregnant women drink a pitcher of champagne on New Years Eve? forget approximately it, the regulation has no corporation interfering - and the regulation needless to say recognises it and cuts in need of such interference.

Representatives and Congressmen come home and meet their constituents (you), several times during the year for town hall meetings. You find out when they will be there by either calling their offices in Washington or locally, or looking in a newspaper daily. You need to be at these meetings and have a face to face question and answer session with your lawmakers.

Also, it helps to inundate their offices in Washington or locally with letters. If you don't like the answer you get the first time or whenever, you keep writing.

You can also get a petition together to send of registered voters in your state who feel the same way as you do or get into activism and organize a group to meet and brainstorm together on the issues.

Most of all, if you do not like the actions of your current Representatives you can vote them out of office.

Start sending letter to all your local leaders and also your congressman and representative offices, this letter should express you concerned and also state strong facts, ask for a face to face interview to discuss this issue with you. Save copies of the letters and when you receive responses save those as well. Then when they've denied your request and overseen your concerns, write them again and again and this time with signing sheets from all kind of people from your community, and when then over look everything again, take the facts to the media (local TV, radio, press) and that's when you show all your efforts and when you say that you have been ignored by your local politicians. Put them on the spot

You could try to write to a politician in your area and suggest for them to bring up the issue. Or you could contact a journalist or TV reporter and suggest for them to look into it. Try a local newspaper or someone like ex. Oprah Winfrey who does a TV-program many people watch? Or maybe a public person who cares for children? Like Angelina Jolie or Madonna?
If you don't try, it sure won't happen!
Keep a copy of the letter if you send and don't be discouraged if you need to wait more than a month for a reply.
Good luck:-)

You can try writ ting but a single voice is often overlooked. Try getting all your friends and family members to sign a petition or better yet, get them all to help you circulate one through the law makers district. Once you have a pile of signatures, contact the local media (newspapers TV or radio.

The point is to be as loud as you can get. This forces the lawmaker to respond. He can't afford to look bad or he loses his job.

Good luck

Give the politician money - the more you give the more you'll be listened to and the more likely you are to get what you want.

Or - and this is probably a lot harder and less likely to succeed - gin up a press campaign to raise public awareness and use that to hammer the politician into the shape you want.
