some people think its sweater-vests and thick black glasses and some people think its like black jeans and eyeliner, im confused

Since everyone seems to throw anyone likes to wear black ,(which btw, doesn't mean they worship satan, ok?) isn't smart, wears clothes that are different from them, has long hair, does drugs, or cuts themselves into the 'emo' group, basically emo is whatever you want it to be, because, as you see, everyone here has their different opinions of what emo is.
Anyways.. just because you call someone emo doesn't meant they think they are, and it definitely doesn't mean that they should all go away and live away from the rest of us.

emo is a disgrace to humanity.
emo is the old goth steryotype. eyeliner wrist scars all black and cry alot. the whole thing is that emo comes from EMOtional.
i hate emo kids because they all seem to think people give a sh*t about them but they are beter off living in the ocean. dont be an emo . .. . better yet beat up emos

Emo is definatly more goth than nerdy because if u don't know what an emo is its a person who slits thier wrist just because they like to and nerds want to be around to help move science to another level not slit their wrists!!

It is a sign of immaturity.
A little individuality is not a bad thing, you know? Maybe people should stop wearing the same cloths to fit in a group, or to show where they belong to.

actually emo is when you were what ever the hell you want to were when you want to.you could be weiring bright pink with white and a cool hair clip or somthing, although what really ties the whole look together is a cool hair cut! ;)

it is both, im emo/goth but emo is the cooler goth, goth is ALL BLACK all the time, long skirts and worshiping satan.
emo is just having your hair in your face, dresseing "differently" and writing poetry. so gothic is more extreem, emo is just being a rebel that hates abercombie and fitch people and happy cheerleaders
