Everyone who is dear to me, that has made a difference in my life would retire. Id pay off the homes of my friends and family. I would move to that cabin in the middle of the woods. Buy a summer home in the Caymens. I would look for ways to give from all the investments I was earning from. Making an impact on people who are in the same circumstances as my pre lottery life.

I sound like Miss America.....where's my crown??!?! hehehehe

Pay off debt (cc's & house), give my church a new roof, new furnace, etc. (5 million dollars would handle all their 150-year-old building's maintenance issues and leave plenty left over), buy a great big parcel of land and build a nice house in the mountains next to a national park (donate the conservation easement to the Nature Conservancy), probably invest the rest...

First things first I would go on a massive shopping spree and replace my whole wardrobe. Then I would head off to a car dealership and buy myself a new vehicle. I would buy a new house as well.
I would give some to charity, some to family and friends and make sure they are well taken care of.
I would also want to start my own charity and help others as much as possible.

I don't play the lottery, but I would invest it to have a rent every month in my bank and I would create companies to create jobs for other people.

I want to buy a farm to find a way to make a permanent home for street people. If their surroundings are stable and away from the environment that gets them in trouble, therapy might be more effective for their problems.
