Not letting anyone manipulate you, change your opinions, etc., affect your beliefs, or change you in any way. You know what you know, you believe what you believe. Listen, but do not judge. Do not let anyone change what you believe or ARE inside. Do not do anything that goes against your core self, or that feels wrong or uncomfortable.

Being true to yourself is being confident in what you do and you do it because you feel it's the right thing to do. Also when you are true to yourself you are a good person and good to yourself and others and you don';t worry about what the world thinks. You do it with confidence and pride and don't succumb to peer pressure or any pressure...

It means being true to your personality. For example if you love rock and dressing up in punkish clothes and you see that everyone is dressing up like "gangstas" don't change what you are just to fit in. Be yourself, and do what ou want. That is what being true to yourslef is all about. =D

Accepting who you are, and making the best life you can for yourself. Living by your moral code. Not hiding who you are, or following others blindly.

i hthink it means being straight up with yourself. & not lying to yourself. look at yourself as good *but imperfect ameaning there's room for improvement*. that's the case with everyone. no one is perfect..... also, give respect to other sensible opinions BUT make YOUR OWN ultimate opinions and decisions that are right for YOU

one example is if you're going to do something, but you can't decide what. if one person says they'd raher do this, then someone else think that too but you dissagree... if you do not speak up and just go with what they think, you wont be being true to yourself.

To Thine Own Self Be True
Yet here, Laertes! Aboard, aboard for shame!
The wind sits in the shoulder of your sail,
And you are stay'd for.
There ... my blessing with thee!
And these few precepts in thy memory
Look thou character. Give thy thoughts no tongue,
Nor any unproportion'd thought his act.
Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.
Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
Of each new-hatch'd, unfledg’d comrade. Beware
Of entrance to a quarrel but, being in,
Bear't that th' opposed may beware of thee.
Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice;
Take each man's censure, but reserve thy judgement.
Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
But not express'd in fancy; rich, not gaudy;
For the apparel oft proclaims the man;
And they in France of the best rank and station
Are of a most select and generous chief in that.
Neither a borrower, nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!
-- William Shakespeare
