in a CV we often use the acronyme "IT skills" and I would like to know what exactly these 2 letters mean.

CV or Curriculum Vitae is the name used in academia for a resume. So if you're applying for a position at a univeristy college, you call it a CV, if it's in industry, you call it a resume.

It can refer to knowledge of sofware packages or knowledge networking/programming.

Ususally a CV should specify what the IT skills are.

'IT' stands for Information Technology - however it is now known more frequently in education as ICT, standing for Information Communication Technology. Hope this helps.

Generally IT means hardware, networking, servers, etc...

While IS (Information systems) means programming, software integration, etc...
