yes. but sometimes even when a question on its face could be legitimate it very clearly isn't because of other questions posted by the same person, and on those i will sometimes say something. on a question like the one you mention, though, if i believed the person was making it up but couldn't be certain i would refrain from answering at all because of the seriousness of the subject matter. if the question is on a less sensitive issue and i'm pretty sure they're a troll i'm admittedly sometimes a little less circumspect. i think most of the time i've got a decent sense of when somebody is making stuff up, and if anything i probably err more on the side of thinking they're for real when they're not. earlier today i did answer a question seriously that i had a nagging suspicion was from a troll, just because i thought the issue was worth discussing regardless of the person who posted it. *i could not agree more with eli's mommy's point that there is often a lot going on in people's lives that we don't know about and if we did we'd be inclined to cut them more slack.

Well I have two missed chances. One was funny the other was heartbreaking for me.
Funny-
My friend and I were sitting and waiting for our names to be called to go up and collect an award for our cheerleading Comp. She stands up first and I am still sitting down so I have a perfect view of her butt. As I was going to push her to the side I notice that she has a huge reddish stain all over her butt and leg. I realize that she had started her period. Right then her name is called and she starts walking up to the front of the room. Oh and may I add that the room is filled with 1500+ ppl including the news and photo grapher for the newspaper. So ne ways she starts walking up to the front of the room and I try and say Jenna, Jenna , Jenna wait... I have to tell you somthing. But she couldn't here me over the clapping and cheering. So that is my funny story of missing a chance to tell someone something very important.
HeartBreaking-
My best friend and I have known eachother ever since we were born. We always treated eachother as just friends and nothing more. But when I got into 7th grade I started feeling like I liked him more than just friends. But I never told him cause I didn't want our friendship to be ruind if he didn't feel the same way. So then in 8th grade he got his first girl friend. I was so happy for him yet I was really heartbroken b/c I liked him even more then the year b4. So him and his gf go out for a while and then break up at the end of school and decide to just be friends over summer. So during the summer of 8th grade him and I are together all the time. I start liking him more and more. I feel like its love but I wasn't really sure. So ne ways in august he comes to my door and says he needs to talk to me about some thing. I let him in and we sit on the couch. He tells me hes moving to florida and thats along ways away cause we live in California. So I bust into tears and hug him and almost tell him how I feel but then don't. I had this really wierd feeling inside of me and thought that I really needed to tell him but I just skiped over it. So he moves to florida and one day I get a phone call from his parents about 2 months ago. His mother is crying and she tells me that my best freind forever died in a car accident with his father. His parents are devorced so he was driving to his dads house and a drunk driver slammed them head on going 65 miles per hour in a 40 mile zone. My best freind died instantly.... It was the sadest day in my life. I will never forget my feeling for him.

yeah ur lifestory
obviously isnt that why u have fatalists and the fact that life is a probabliity tree with consequence like in "Lock, Stock and 2 Smokin Barrels" where humans not being evoluntionally capable of stomaching milk lead to the car crashing, American getting the daimond and stuff.
Nothing's unconditional in the words of Bravery.

Yes,...I didn't tell someone that "I loved them too," because I was a scared kid. Now, .....I am 43-years-old, and I know I missed the chance at having the love of my life.
So, in a nutshell, say what is on your mind or in your heart; because you may never get the chance to do it again.

yeah but just as well- alot of the time i change my mind about them afterwards
a few times it's been worse after telling them whatever it is i hadn't told them yet
& it's usually something like saying "i love you" to a friend i still want to be friends with, but the words then breed misunderstanding... i pretty much just leave whoever it is to to just figure it out for themselves

my mother-she died from complications of Diabetes about 8 years ago and I wasn't able to be there during her last breath. I wish I could have told her I loved her one last time and held her until that last moment.

Many times
The biggest one was when i wanted to say sorry to someone before they left. I left it too late and i haven't seen them for about 12 year's.
