Of course there is a lot of sites about Romans.

Don't be lazy, try a couple of searches with Yahoo, like Roman Emperors etc and you'll hit the jackpot. Plus it will be fun for you to do the search, as every new find will be interesting, as opposed to someone looking it up for you and directing it to the website.

Finally, of course the Romans were cool. They ruled the World at one time, the important parts that is.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being interested in the Romans. They were one of the great empires, invoking political concepts such as senatorial republicanism and dictatorship. They had iconic figures like Caesar, Augustus and Hadrian, as well as infamous characters like Caligula and Nero (I strongly recommend watching "I, Claudius" if you haven't already - it's a British miniseries about the the Julio-Claudian Dynasty from the point of view of the oddball emperor Claudius and while being speculative and somewhat fictional, is totally worth your time). They crucified Jesus and yet, ironically, established Christianity with the reign of Constantine. They were very modern with their acceptance of other people's culture but had more slaves than anyone would go on to have in the America's. They built aqueducts, arenas and roads like it was no ones business and produced the concept of the arch, used cementicium (aka concrete) widespread (yeah I know they didn't technically invent it but then again, the Romans - like most successful empires - didn't care about originality but instead cared about effectiveness), and managed to eke out an existence that spanned a thousand years. Even the Founding Fathers owe a lot of their ideas to Rome. Hell, the USA is even compared to the Roman empire - for better or for worse.

I admit, I have never been to Italy, so my opinion is null and void where that countries concerned. Just keep in mind that the Italy of then might not be the Italy of now. Still, don't hesitate to visit. Who knows, you might like it.

i at the instant examine the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and become enthralled with the Greek mythology, so I persisted reading the Heroes of Olympus books and nevertheless am thoroughly obsessed with all of it. So I picked up an older e book referred to as "Myths and Legends Greece and Rome" by utilising H.A. Guerber, and this e book takes the myths of historic Greece and Rome, (comparable thoughts) and lays them out quite from the Roman potential. wish you relish.
