I am sure there are going to be many rationalizations for what are the causes of date rape and what are the solutions to the problem. The reality is that some people (it this case mostly men) have stupid ideas regarding sex and their "rights" to it. Sex is a beautiful thing when its done between two people who are interested in having sexual relations with one another. It is ugly when one person feels they have a right to demand it on another.
We could say it has to do with miscommunication, bad education, ego issues - whatever. The reality is that it's just wrong and real men know that its wrong.

It seems logical that going out with a guy you dont know too well, possibly adding in alcohol, allowing him to drive or to be in an out of the way place with him alone, or even being a tease could be a precusor to someone who was inclined to rape.
I am not suggesting that any of these things would be the females fault. However if you are going to protect yourself and prevent date rape, do not go out with someone you do not know a lot about. If you do, meet him in a public place and find your own ride home. Always know who your with first last names, where he lives etc. Dont over drink, that leads to very bad choices. Be safe and have fun!

That is a big subject..
Causes:
a) Some guy wants to pull a prank and have sex with a gal even though the guy feels that she would not normallly want sex with him;
b) a prank to be pulled;
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
a) when at a bar, etc.. the girl should NEVER leave her drink unattended even with someone she knows;
b) attempt to KNOW the person she is with
