i'm obsessed with this thought. i don't ever want to be born again into this world. i am a Catholic (I try to be) so I don't believe in reincarnation but this really scares me. Not the judgement day but when my time comes I want to be done with life here for good.

what do you think about reincarnation, etc...

thanks

I don't believe in reincarnation at all, but that's not to say that it doesn't happen. But if reincarnation were to be a true aspect of life, you still have to cope with the idea of dieing and not remembering your previous life. Think about it, not many people claim to actually remember vivid details about their "past life" and if they do, we quickly excuse their claims.

If reincarnation is true, we still have to in a sense "leave this world" because of the fact you don't remember a past life. So, of course I don't believe in reincarnation because to me, it's just a pointless theory because there is nothing that really comes of it. There is no plausible reason to believe in it.

I would suggest concentrating on leaving your legacy behind, be remembered, because if you really make a difference in society or someone Else's life - you'll always be remembered and live on.

Friend, reincarnation , in my opinion , is different from rebirth. Incarnation , we generally associate with some good , laudable, valued and respected individual. " He is an incarnation of virtues. he is ...... " Rebirth, on the other hand , is just another common return to the earth but in a new body.

It is said that we have NO choice in this . so long as you have unfulfilled desires and live a certain live based on the acts that you do you are said to be born again.

I am not a christian but I believe that even Jesus Christ rose from death and things like that... You should know better.

What is it that is freightening you in this birth that you hate so much and not to have a similar experience again? violence, hatred, jealousy........ sadness... what is it? There is nothing like a judgement day. Who is judging you? Only judgement is by your own conscience. If you are clear that you have been a good soul I think you need not fear that God will take it on you.

There are whispers that a whole chapter on reincarnation was torn out of the old testament because it did not fit in the doctrine of humbleness and obeisance to the church as an institute and thus a possible loss of control and power.

So, why not believe in the fact that you may come back. It would mean that nothing is meaningless anymore. Should be a consolation rather than a threat.

Let's assume reincarnation exists:

1) You will be reborn as a human if you live your life as a good person
2) You will attain nirvana and go into hthe heavenly realm if you're an extremely good person
3) If yopu're evil....then you're going to become a bug or some "lower" life form.

Let's say there is no reincarnation and jsut heven and hell.
1) If you're a good person or a great person you go to heaven.
3) If you're evil...you go to hell..

BASICALLY,
Be good, and you won't go to hell, you'll go to heaven, or you'll come back
If you're extremely good, you can just wait until judgement day.

Moral of the story...differences in religions don't matter, jsut be an extremely good person and whther it's Krishna, Christ, Buddha, Allah, etc. etc.
Whoever it is will bless you with heaven if you have been a good person. In essence, don't listen to priests, listen to god. Don't gay bash, don't treat animals cruelly, don't hurt other humans. Live life as a good person, appreciate the sacrifices that Hindu gods or Jesus Christ made for us, and understandd each religion as a parable from which to understand life better and be a good person.

Reincarnation used to be in the bible, but was removed because it gave people hope.
Yes, I believe reincarnation exists.
It helps to explain many otherwise inexplicable phenomena.
What do you think Jesus was trying to teach us about the resurrection?

We have all had many lives, and will have many more until such time that we have evolved sufficiently spiritually to be able to move on. Even then, many spirits choose to reincarnate, in order to return, and help others along the path.

I have had experiences that prove i have lived before. I believe the catholic church has proof that JESUS taught his deciples reincarnation and meditation techniques,as used in hinduism an buddhism, I BELIEVE KING CONSTANTINE AND THOSE HE ORGANIZED TO COMPILE THE ORIGINAL BIBLE,EDITED OUT A LOT OF SCRIPTURE,released only to the very elite, much as jesus did with Parables, explaining them only to his deciples.

Pray sincerely to god telling him that you don't want to be born again. If you as a catholic believe that all sincere prayers are granted then your prayer will be surely granted. Faith in God is more important than religious label.

When you die you simply go to the next level which is of a spiritual nature.
You WILL NOT be born again in the traditional, secular, sense.

If you are ever born again, you would probably forget your previous life, or most of it. And you would forget you were scared of it in the first place,
