Unfurnished in most cases -- not all, means the apartment or house has a stove, refrigerator, sometimes dishwasher. NO furnishings. And yes there will be a tub or shower --- wouldn't be an apartment without them...LOL. You have to have living room, bedroom, dining room furniture. Plus all the things you will need to live.....kitchen utensils, towels, etc. To be on the safe side....call and ask about anything you plan on renting. Usuallly you have to have first/last month rent plus a security deposit.

Good Luck!!

In America your stove and fridge, hotwater heater, tub, toilet, stuff like that will be there. You will have to provide everything else. Some unfurnished apartments provide blinds, others simply have bare windows that you will have to cover yourself.

Don't assume though . . .a few years ago I looked at a unfurnished studio apartment in Illinois and much to my surprise the fridge was something that would be found in a typical college dorm and there was no freezer. The landlord was not willing to rectify that so I kept looking.

Just remember, ASK your landlord about anything you are unsure of and get everything they agree to do for you in writing.

It merely means that there is no furniture already provided in the apartment. Unfurnished means: un = not , and furnish means to supply, so it is NOT supplied with furniture. Some come with, and some don't. It does NOT apply to stoves, toilets or bath tubs...those are things all apartments MUST have.

Nm, They are correct an unfurnished apartment will not have a washer/dryer or refrigerator. Just a stove and a sink. Also all electronics cost much more here than in the US so if you want a large TV or nice sound system or good refrigerator get them in the US and have them shipped. Also clothes, mattresses, box springs, sheets, mattress pads, plates, pots and pans are much more expensive with limited choices. Basically since you company is paying, buy everything you think you will need including furniture and have it shipped here. It will save you a lot of money and you can get everything you like. I have found most imported items to cost almost double in Mexico City than in the US.

Stoves, refridgerators, hotwater heaters, sinks and installed facilities are provided. In America, light bulbs are provided in an unfurnished apartment.

I was surprised to find out that in some countries, unfurnished means no hotwater heaters and NO light fixtures of any kind, not even light bulbs. Its different in the U.S.

Here you just have to provide couch, chairs, tables, beds, plants, throw rugs (not wall to wall carpet) and wall hangings. Those sorts of things.

Means no furniture. Otherwise, the meaning varies, so ask. Might not have major appliances like a stove or refrigerator, but might. Some complexes will provide them for you but will charge you extra. The law probably requires a tub or shower, sink, toilet and so forth.

It simply means that there is no furniture, curtains, etc. in the apartment you have to buy your own. Which in some cases may be good, because I mean what if the people that lived there before you had some weird looking furniture that you would have had to sell!

No, it just means no furniture (sofas, rugs, tables, etc). It should still have basic appliances (including a refridgerator and stove).

When an appartment is "unfurnised" it simply means you must provide your own furniture. Stove, fridge, ect. will often times be included
