You are developing a serious phobia based on some personal experience(s) that you are trying to bury because they are scary and upsetting to you. Get to a trained counselor you can trust and start working on the root causes of this reaction. You need and deserve support. Please go and get it right away.

How old are you? I ask because when I was young I used to get scared too. Mine was mostly blood related and it would actually make me nauseous. I think I just forced myself to watch more and more and desensitized myself (although this can create a whole different problem). You have to realize that TV is fake. Watch some documentaries or "behind the scenes" and find out how they make it look so real. When you watch something try to understand what specifically is making you scared. Is it because you've experienced violence in your life? If you still are scared as you get into adulthood you may want to look deeper into WHY you're scared and maybe talk to a counselor.

There is nothing wrong with having a distaste of violence and with avoiding having to watch depictions of it. But don't let it get out of hand. You will have to practice being sort of "around" when violent movies are being watched, without getting involved in watching them. You have to "toughen up" about it.

your phobia, yes you can label it that is getting in your way of living your life. you know you have a problem and you know it is probably irrational. your dad isn't helping with the garbage he watches so decide to get some help for yourself. Talk to a pro, find one at school. you do not deserve to live like this. i/m sending you good thoughts.

Can you try training your mind or just telling yourself that it's only make-believe ? You know when violence occurs in movies, shows, & commercials it's only fake, put-on, make-believe, maybe if you just keep telling yourself it isn't real when those sounds start running through your mind you really can control your fears and thoughts, just remember, IT IS only make-believe, they really can't shoot people for real on tv. Try and give yourself a reality check whenever this happens, and just keep telling yourself its not real, because it isn't. Good Luck
