When I receive an em from a friend,instead of my address in the box it is addressed to unknown recipent,why?? does it come out that way and how does it get to me without my address showing. Thanx

becuase the email is being sent to several different people. Dont worry your email addy is in there somewhere. It is called bbc .. A bulk blind copy of sorts. This way only one email is sent from my computer but goes to several people. Kinda in a way like spam or bulk mail ... :)

Your friend is sending it to you as a BCC: or Blind Carbon Copy. BCC addressees are stripped from the e-mail. The most common reason that people use BCC: is to hide the other addressees from each other. This also often hides you from yourself.
