I donate my time more than my money. I like to help Cancer fund raisers, Hospice, Make a wish and the arthritis foundation. If possible I'll use my art talents to help, such as donating art to be raffled, or coloring illuminaries to sell.

Yes, I do consistently donate to charities including the Red Cross & those dealing with animals, conservation, disabilities, medical research. I feel that if you have a measure of financial security, you should do your part for worthy casuses. However, you should also do your research & know about the places you're giving money to (as a lot of scams are out there posing as charities)..

It is beneficial to me financially to donate to charitities, so lets not pretend I have a grander or altruistic reason for doing it
...I don't care which so I spread it around...I would like to donate stuff to animal protection leagues and their like, but there is too much HUMAN suffering going on at the moment. I would like to donate more to global and international charities more, but there is too much crap here in England that needs the help too...same can be said for adult charities in regard to children too...it becomes a really boon at times...but gotta draw the line somewhere

I was brought up believing that I had to tithe 10% of my income to the church. Even though I stopped believing in the church, I didn't stop believing in the 10% tithing thing. So when I started making a fairly decent living, I started donating 10% of my income to things that really mattered to me
So I primarily give to PBS, the Leukemia Research Foundation, local Food Banks, and various others.

I always donate used clothes and toys to the Goodwill, and I donate money when I can to the Girl Scouts - I was a Girl Scout myself for eight years, so they hold a special place for me, as I learned a lot about life through that experience :)

I have been doing so much volunteer work lately!
I have been donating my spare time to help in the construction of a 45 person homeless and battered woman shelter.
I fact today...is the Open House
I'm not sure about going because they want to give me recognition for my efforts...that's not why I'm helping out.

Yes, I donate to the Salvation Army every year for a tax write off. Once a year, I clean out my son's closet and my closet and give away old clothes, shoes, furniture and toys. They give the items to the homeless shelters, the battered wives shelters and last year they told me they were giving my furniture to the Tsunami victims.

I try and help those charities which help children and thus future generations rather than those that help current causes... United Way allows you to specify which charities so I usually select... Boys and Girls clubs, after school programs, and women's shelters....
