The motion of the waves grinds the rocks into sand. Actually, there are many "beaches" in places where there is no longer any water, but we just call it a beach when there is water nearby.

Well most people consider a beach a place with sand and water from the ocean, and the sand is ground up rock from the wave motions so thats why! when water grinds rock it turns to sand and the water level may lower in time, so there for, the sand stays and the water is lower, so it creates a beach where the sand stayed and didnt go back out in to sea!

because the definition of a beach is the interface between sea and shore.a beach can be sandy or rocky. if you want a beach without water then go to a desert. ain't life a beach???

It isn't, It's that if a beach is inland you call it a desert or sand dunes.
