Pokemon Fire red help???

Question

I'm trying to put to pokemon into the daycare at the same time to get and egg but it just won't work!!!! Can somebody help me out???

see, the whole thing is that seviper is of the egg group 'field' and trapinch is of the egg group 'bug'. because they aren't the same egg type, they can't breed. there will never be an egg

it's like breeding animals in real life. a labrador retriever and a dalmation, while they look drastically different, both are of the egg type "canine". a polar bear can't breed with the dalmation because the polar bear is of egg type "bear"

you can look up egg groups in places like http://www.gamefaqs.com and you will see what types can breed with what types.

the babies will always look like their mothers, but will inherit moves from their fathers. if the baby is male, it will inherit stat growths from the mother, and if it's female, from the father.

if a ditto is used to evolve, you'll be given the lower stat types from the ditto 100%. (it's better to not use ditto, when you can)

pokemon that are neither male nor female will only be able to breed with each other or with ditto. (a voltorb can mate with an electrode, a voltorb or a ditto, but nothing else.)

a pichu can't breed til it evolves into pikachu. same with other baby types like magby, smoochum, cleffa, igglybuff, elekid, togepi...

legendaries can't breed at all. that's why most of them aren't distinguished between male and female. except latios is a male, and latias is a female. while it would be nice to have an egg that would hatch a baby grouden, to breed moves into, there is a reason they can't breed.

it would not make sense for you to be able to have a baby grouden. grouden is supposed to be a mythical representation of the earth. kyogre is the sea. celebi is time or healing, or something. moltres is fire, entei is volcanos. articuno is the icy wind, and suicuine is the stormy rain or something. zapdos is the thunder (even if he looks like lightning bolts) and raikou is a storm cloud. mew is an illusion or something, and mewtwo is a genetic experiment spliced from mew. (mewtwo has no reason it can't breed, other than it's strength)

The pokemon have to be the same egg type (ex. Human: Chansey), and they have to like each other. If both those condition are fulfilled, you have to wait a long time anyways before they have a baby. While the same egg type is necessary, there is always a chance they will breed as long as they don't prefer playing with other pokemon or hate each other. They have to be different genders, neutral genders can't breed and the pokemon will always be the same kind as the mother, though they can have traits of the father.

It is very easy if you have got a ditto. Just go to the daycare and then put ditto and the pokemon u want and there will be an egg after some time.
(Doesnt work for legendary pokemon.)

You can try to give one random Pokemon and a ditto. If the random Pokemon can breed an egg it will breed with a ditto.
