I know that oil is a limited resource and everyday I see thousands of vehicles and planes using fuel and other things so how could there not be a big fear of running out. Because if it runs out the world would be in chaos today. It would be difficult to transport food to markets and to even just get to work. I know there are hybrids and studys on bio fuels and also hydrogen powered vehicles but it just seems as long as we have the oil nipple going that there isnt any rush to get the alternative things. Why will we continue to rely on a resource that will run out?

There is no shortage of oil! What is becoming more difficult to get is CHEAP oil.Arabian Crude,Alaskan crude, North Atlantic and Gulf Coast crudes are easily accessable and therefore cheap . We in the United States are sitting on the largest proven oil reseves in shale oil.Canada has it's sands oil .Shale and oilsand oils are more difficult to recover from the earth and the market has not yet gotten strong enough to do so.Since the invention of the automobile the pundits have been predicting an oil shortage it hasnt and wont come in our life times . Now a different problem is manifesting itself and that is our ability to refine oil into usable fuels we haven't built any new refining capabilities in about 30 years and are not keeping up with demand so GAS prices are going to continue to rise until we do something about that! We have to make our choices carefully but we are in no present danger of running out of oil.

i believe almost every government is aware of this & working hard to get away from oil.but it takes time.

theres research into ethanol(made from wheat).
there are cars that run on water!
there are electric cars

i think someday, maybe in about 5-8 years most of the world will not be using oil.in my opinion most vehicles will probablly use electricity or water.

an ideal resource imo would be human powered vehicles, some way of turning a few pedals into enough power to run a vehicle for half an hour.

It won't just run out all of a sudden. It will get more expensive, and that's what will finally drive people to get serious about other alternatives. There are still some pretty big finds in deep water and arctic/antarctic regions that haven't happened yet.

I think that to a great extent the oil shortage is largely being manufactured. Things are not what they appear to be. The rulers of this world are seeking every opportunity to enslave us, and to reduce world population dramatically. They fully intend to use a manufactured oil shortage to create chaos, and war. That's the main reason we are not seeing alternate energy sources developed.

Oil is cheaper and the economies really dont want to change. It would involve a lot of money and would take years, and who wants to spend that much time? Were just keep seeking newer and newer oilfields.
