I have an 89 cabriolet, would like to repair a few thing, mostly cosmetic. Are any parts interchangable? would Rabbit or Golf parts fit on a cabriolete? I just got it 2 days ago, can't find this on the internet.

The seats and seat belts, some switches, Golf exterior parts are more in likely goin to be a no but some rabbit parts might work. As with all convertibles the body of the car is 9 times out of 10 different than its non convertible model. For the exterior of the car I would stick with cabriolet parts. Engine parts and engines are VERY switchable and fairly easy to do. For the interior, just go to your local junk yard and walk the yard and get what you need. Now that you own a VW a junk yard will become your best friend.

check out ebay, just put in 1989 volkswagon cabriolet and you will be listed parts for this vehicle that are presently available, you will have to talk to a VW dealer to answer the interchangeable question. Good luck.
