How a child was raised has a lot to do with the adult they become. If he wasn't shown a lot of affection as a child, he may not be comfortable showing affection to the people he cares about. My advice is to be affectionate to him and give him some time to get used to it. When we got married, my husband came from a family that was not affectionate. My family is very loving and always hugging each other and telling each other we love them.. I think it freaked him out a little a first but now, he is more like my family and is very affectionate to me. It just took him some time to be around a family that is demonstrative to see that it is okay to be that way.

Certainly. We are all products of our upbringings. We sub consciously behave in the way that we saw our role models behave as we were growing up. People can change, but that has to be done on a conscious level.

We do tend to learm by example.
A loving and demonstrative relationship can change that but it will take a lot of work and as soon as there is a slight falling out he will revert to type.

It depends on the son. Yes, he can become the same way, living my what he was taught. Yet, he can also take what he was taught, learn from it, and do the complete opposite.

My sister is not openly affectionate person. Her husband is. Their son is openly affectionate with hugs and kisses for his girlfriend. She likes that he is so open and wishes she could be like that but isn't. I suppose she doesn't realize that by allowing her husband to openly show her affection her son has learned to openly give it.

It would depend on birth order. If he was their 2nd child, yes. Otherwise it would be more likely for him to marry an undem. woman.
If his dad was this way and he was the first born, then the answer is also yes.
