Well, you don't call your parents by their first names, right?

It's a little coincidental, so think of it as funny and get over it if the person is someone you really like.

My husband and mother share the same middle name it don't bother me one bit. Your question needs to be more specific, like first middle or last name, it makes a difference if the last name is the same. My ex-husbands family last name was the same as my family last name and people always said we looked alike. When we went to get married they said we better make sure we were not related. That bothered me.

First of all this is marriage and divorce, not boyfriend-girlfriend, and secondly what difference does a name make?

I cannot believe some of the trivial things people worry about when a relationship is not based on names, its based on communication, trust, love, and even dreams.

It would not bother me, because a name is just that. It may feel strange at first, but you would get over it.

I love my parents dearly, so it wouldn't bother me. However, if I thought my dad was a jerk, it might be a little odd. But, I wouldn't discount a potential bf/hb because of his name!

I'd throw out a nickname for him/her. It would be kind of creepy in certain situations.
