A start is the BMI (Body Mass Index), which is based on height-weight charts.

I hate the BMI. The BMI doesn't ask if those pounds are fat (not good) or if you're a well-toned athlete. Lance Armstrong is overwieght on the BMI because of the weight in his muscles.

So... the answer is... are you a well-toned athlete? Or are you a couch potato? If you're the latter, look at the BMI.

thats a good weight, almost ideal ... however, weight is a false indicator since women's weight will fluctuate as much as 5 to 10 pounds per month. eat right, be reasonably active and watch the inches .... since muscle weighs more than fat, it is possible to weigh "heavy" and be smaller ... keep in mind that the body mass index (BMI - the ratio of muscle to fat) needs a certain amount of fat in it for building material for energy, muscle and other things the body requires. falling below the recommended body mass index will put unusual strain on the organs and muscles as well as lower your resistance to disease
