Regardless of what product data specifies, every shredder I've had jams frequently with normal use. Would like to have one that actually does what the manufacturer claims it will.

We have one at work that doesn't jam. even though they say you can shred staples and such, I remove the staples first and try not to put in too many pages at a time. If they say they can handle 12 sheets at a time, I try six at a time. There are also shredder sheets that have oils on them to lubricate the blades. That might help. Or you can buy shredder oil from office depot and oil the blades once a month.

I had a shredder that was only about $30 and it never had a problem. It seems that if every one you have ever had jams frequently that your idea of what "normal use" is might be different from the rest of us. You may have to read the manual for the model you buy and see what their recommendations are for normal use.
