I thought I had found a nice little hobby but when I went to the needlepoint store the kits were hundreds of dollars! Ouch!!

Well, some of them have wool yarn, which is more expensive than acrylic. Also, some of them are hand-painted canvasses. The most expensive ones I've ever seen have been by Elizabeth Bradley. And if you go to a needlepoint shop, the prices are unbelievable.
Many years ago I bought several kits that I loved, they were $33 each. That was before I discovered ebay!! Do a search for needlepoint kit - you won't believe what you can get for $5 and up. The kits they are selling at Michael's for $30 you can get on ebay for half that, if not less.
So don't give up your hobby - it's affordable!
