I know it has been asked before but I still love the song.
Blunt is able to convey the emotion of a glance or smile from a special someone (be it someone he knew or a total stranger) who simply touched his heart as well as etched their beauty in his mind. It's a simple song coming straight from the heart and It's Beautiful (and sad). It gets my attention every time I hear it just as a glance or smile from a beautiful, special someone would.

I think his plan has nothing to do with she that smiles whilst still with another man. Judging by the video, this boy wants out and will not be deterred by the smile of she that is in places crowded.Hence...I won't lose any sleep on that cause I've got a plan, means, concordantly that he is going to kill himself ergo he'll never be with her.

It is a great song, but if you haven't checked out the whole CD Back to Bedlam, you're missing out on a lot of other really good songs. I think you'd like Tears and Rain and Cry too.
Enjoy!

Yes I love his whole album. People seem to love to hate James Blunt at the moment which is a shame. Even though he may not be to everybodys taste in music, I think people should appreciate talented artists.

I think the song starts as a sweet emotional reaction, that becomes a desperate emotional reaction that causes me to pity the person. It makes me think of giving up. My response may be triggered by the video, which gives the impression of him committing suicide because he can't have this person. I think that's just about stupid. Sorry.

Hate it, his voice is so weird and that song creeps me out. Whatever. That's just my opinion.

It's an awful pablum kind of song.
Weird Al had it right in his version "You're Pitiful".
