Now you know why I do not have marble counters..I have always said that marble counters are for looking at from a distance and not for using and CERTAINLY not in a kitchen area.
From experts I have talked to.. the only solution is rehoning or polishing seems to be the only remedy
NEVER use anythng acidic(lemon juice, etc or even Petroleum jelly that I have heard about). Unlike granite,,,,, granite, when installed, cannot even be sealed..
Sorry that I do not have any solutions but if you ever hear of any, I would be interested in knowing.. just for curiosity sake only

You need to purchase #0000 (grade of) Steel Wool and some Glass Wax at your local Hardware Center. If they don't carry Glass Wax try your local Custom Bath/Shower dealer. The Steel Wool is very fine and won't scratch, you can also use it to remove water stains from shower doors. Just place some glass wax on the stain and rub w/steel wool. I use to clean Custom Homes and this is what we used.
