Please help me with my Spanish homework. Please translate "oration" in Spanish. (Oration=public speaking) At first I thought the translation is "oracion" but a friend told me that oracion refers to another thing. I tried to search the dictionary but I cant find the word oration. Pls help

I teach Spanish and used to live in Mexico. The word oración is correct, pronounced (oar-ah-see-own).
Discurso is a synonym and you can use that as well.

"Discurso" is a better choice than "oracion", because the second word is often used in Spanish to mean "prayer".

I thought it was oración. Maybe you need to add the accent mark, or might have to do with how you're using the word in a sentence either way, here's a link to translate just about anything:
