I have been called to serve one time, but I couldn't be on the jury because the case was against the nursing home where my grandfather lived, and they said I would be unable to give an unbiased verdict.

I have and it was just a exciting as I thought it would be. I spent 2 weeks on a case and in the deliberation room that's when it really gets interesting. Cause you see all the different personalities come out. I was the youngest person in my jury group (24 at the time) and I was surprised that everyone always listened to my views. I always got my point across and was never interrupted which is rare. I had a good group. But after 5 hours we couldn't agree that the defendant, who all agreed was a crook, was guilty. Lack of condemning evidence. I'll recommend it. You get time off work and free lunch.

you must not have any dealing in your personal life while on the jury if your are chosen before you are be allowed in a jury ;
yes, you cannot have an good opinion or unbiased verdict if for any reason if you are involved or know of such fact in your personal life.
the attorneys on both sides are very careful on whom they pick ,wich is their job,to give their defense or else the better chance .

I've served on two jury's, and I've also served on a Grand Jury...which was 2 days a week for a month. An interesting but very sad duty.

Yes. I served on three juries several years ago - an ATM murder trial, a convenience store robbery trial, and a car wreck trial. The murder and robbery defendants received prison sentences, and the guy in the car wreck only received a small amount of what he was asking for.

Was called twice. Once, I got excused because I was still on maternity leave. The second time I didn't get chosen.

No, I haven't, but my mother was called to serve
on a murder trial. She said she hoped she'd
never have to do that again

Nope, never been called upon...yet.
But I would like to do it once. Just
to have the experience of what it is about.

Yes I have and it was so boring.
Not till after lunch at 2pm did anything happen and luckily my name wasn't picked, and that was it.
