Those of us that wear our hearts on their sleeves are indeed targets for persecution. Unfortunately we are living in a world where compassion is not always the driving motivator in all decisions. When someone sees another getting ahead by the love and caring they show, they have to find fault in it in order to pump themselves up and promote their manipulative tactics versus those that are true from the heart. Sure... I'll accept my blame. I've allowed others to always know how I feel. But I don't hide my motives or intentions. It's just a sad statement when someone has to take what is meaningful to others and destroy another for the heart they reveal.....daily.

Not persecuted, perhaps ridiculed. I make things hard on myself at times, for the way I care for others so deeply. I don't think that is what you asking, though.

I accept all the blame. That is why I tread lightly where others can be hurt by my actions. It is as if I hurt them myself.

yes, I have. I have had friends that either my parents (when I was younger) and a now, gratefully ex-boyfriend (before I met my husband) did not like me hanging around, and they thought that I was too involved with them.
