Oral contrceptives are a drug that why. They are not for everyone. They can have different effects for different people and as a patient you must be monitored by a physician for care in that you do not develop adverse side effects. I took oral contraceptives briefly and i develpoed throbbing in my legs, extreme headaches so I was taken off them. My friend was very thin and she was on birth control pills for 2 years when she became pregant anyway. Her baby was born deformed and the company told her that she was that very small percentage of women who oral contrceptives did not work for! She sent thye unused portion back to the the manufacturer and they said there was no fault in the drug...there is and it's on the label that small % that oral contraceptives can't help! People need to be aware of this! Because it's real!

Woman's health may be part of the issue but keeping people sick is a money making proposition so I don't think that is the major reason.
