Psychology studies do suggest that tall men get more powerful positions.
However, I've encountered a few short men who were presidents. They seem to be more aggressive to compensate for they shortness. In fact, it has been my personal observation that the 'short men' are the ones who'll always pick a fight. Sure they twist the truth and say 'I had too defend' ... but it's all about pride w/them.

Copy and Put this in your browser:
http://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/05/08/03/how_much_of_an_advantage_do_tall_men_have_are_tall_men_really_better_off.htm
The author quotes various studies and sources are listed below his article. According to the studies, the author quotes: "For each inch in height, a person earned about $789 more in pay. So a 6-foot person would earn $5,525 more each year than someone who is 5'5."
Also, you can put in your browser:
http://economics.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://slate.msn.com/id/2063439/
and read the article by By Steven E. Landsburg called "Short Changed...Why do tall people make more money?"
Of course, if you are a "go-getter", nothing will stop you--not race, gender, nationality or anything else--and in my opinion, nothing should! But there seems to be a distinct advantage in being tall for men, perhaps for women also.
Hope this answers your question :>)

yea ... but mostly field related for example, in the modelling industry, tall guys get better pay than short guys (who may not be employed anyway). But in the movie industry, a very short guy can get loads of cash for a specific role ... look at Danny DeVito

it depends on the job...maybe if they play for NBA, (then again look at Scottie Pippin) but other than that you cannot discrimminate some one on their size, religion or anything else. It is in the constitution and it is the law. If your work is discriminating against you because of your heighth you can sue them for lots of money.

I think so. Taller men have more self-confidence, so they'll do better on the job. They also look more intimidating.
