Hi >
Interestimg Q.
Despite Meccano & Scalextric stuff, (too old for pound puppies),
It could be an old peice of mining conveyor belt. Used as a sledge arrangement down pit-heaps in Geordie-land. At Mach 3.
Arrive home for tea totally covered in black stuff, and consigned to the bath.
Or trying to build a boat from a dicarded bay-window thing.
Which sank.
Much more fun than Hamleys, although I now get gizmos from catalogues, a donkey that poos chocolate raisens. A miniautre steam engine.Or some pot of goo. The remembered toys of the future
So whatever is fun for even, such as me, an older child at heart.
Bob.

My teddy bear - I still have him, at the grand old age of 53! He was my Mum's when she was a child, so he's a pretty good age, bless him.
Once when I was a child I left him too near the gas fire (I was trying to keep him warm, you see!) and one of his arms got singed. I can still remember the awful smell and being so grateful that I had found him in time. My Mum knitted him a new arm out of yellow wool, which she stuffed with old stockings.
I also had an toy elephant that I called "Umpy Dumpy Dido" - heaven knows where the name came from but I do seem to remember that it was me who made it up! He was pale grey and had a very comical expression on his face.
He and my teddy were the most played with and loved toys ever for me - sadly I don't know what became of Umpy, I suspect he just fell apart from too much loving!!!

I used to love lego the best because you can make up lots of new things all the time. I just never got bored with it. I made a repeating rffle and a working cable car system. Next was tains and planes. Recyclable too!

Sniff... sniff ...I never had toys when I was a wain. So I had to make my own out of cotton reels painted them to make them look like a wee doll or used to catch the rag and bone man who used to give me a balloon in exchange for my old cloths. Times twere'ard those days.

My two Barbie dolls. I know, isn't imaginative, but when I was little my family was really poor. I wanted a Barbie really bad, but my parents couldn't afford it, so the dolls were given to me by my favorite aunt. I will never forget this present because it reminds me of my poor but happy childhood.

I used to love playing with building blocks, making things and then bringing it down. I also used to play with transformer toys and bow and arrows(no real arrows of course).
