I agree. My problem with modern advertising is that the advertisers don't even make an effort anymore. The most mindlessly stupid 10-second rant about shampoo makes it onto TV these days. There are the exceptions though, i enjoy SOME advertisements, but overall they just bloody annoy me. On the highway to my university, they put up a 3-4 storey poster for Jameson's whiskey, i nearly had a heart-attack the first time i drove past it.

I like the funny ones and hate the ones they play over and over again. The Head-On commercial is one of the worst. Also the ones that talk about erectile dysfunction. They repeat that one every commercial break in the early morning.

Some commercials are funny. If you hate commercials on tv, then tape your show and just fastforward it. If you have commercials on the radio, then buy a cd.

I can honestly say I have not watched network TV shows (with the exception of some college football games) in years. Watch the local morning weather forecast - watch PBS news in the evenings as well as TCM, AMC, PBS and GPB. I just also finished watching House, MD on NetFlex.
