Not if you have ever had chicken pox. If you haven't - there's not much risk unless you come down with them. If you have never had them, you should let your OB know, but they will probably tell you the same thing. Kids with chicken pox are most contagious the a day or two before the pox break out and if they have respiratory symptoms. (cough, fever, runny nose). If the child was vaccinated and came down with them - the risk is small that you could have caught them.

hi, it depends on if you had chicken pox as a child and if you did on how severe you had it, you can actually have chicken pox 2 times and having it as an adult is horrible, you can get the chicken pox vaccine if you are worried, i got chicken pox when i was 6 weeks pregnant and doctors advised that i should abort due to complications and i was told that my child could be born with shortened limbs or prematurely and yes he was prem but so where my other 3 children and he was a perfectly healthy baby and has never had any health probs and I'm not sure if he is ammuned to the virus as i have put him in with other kids that have had the chicken pox so that he would get them over and done with but he never has had them yet and he is 7 this year, so try not to panic and worry to much and use your instincts. good luck

Make an appointment with the doctor and tell them you were exposed to chicken pox and would like a blood test to make sure you are immune. That happened to me with my second son and luckily everything turned out ok.

there is absolutely not danger to you or the baby IF you have already had chickenpox at some point in your life.
If you have no had the chickenpox, you need to go the doctors immediately and get checked out. Its very dangerous for a mother who has not built up an immunity (by having had chickenpox before) to be exposed to chickenpox during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.
But again, IF YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD CHICKENPOX AT ANY POINT IN YOUR LIFE there is NOTHING to worry about. :)
I went through this when i was 16 weeks pregnant, so i already know. :)

If you haven't had chicken pox before and catch it yes, it could be very harmful. If you have had chicken pox before then you and your baby will be fine as you have immunities that will be passed to your baby.

there is no danger for your child if you got an immunisation, that means if you either had them before or got a shot!i would still talk to a doctor, those people here are no professional doctors....
