My kia has a hard time going into gear when I first shift it into drive or reverse. I have to feather the gas peddel to get it to ingage. If I just step on the gas and try to drive off it will slam into gear after the rpms are over 2000. I need to know what and or how much to rebuild.

The parts have to be shipped from mitsubushi plant in Korea. Sounds like low fluid pressure worn seals and parts. The best you can do is find a used wrecked car with low mile transmission call wrecking yards. Second buy a KIA, Hyundai reman gear box. Do not even attempt rebuilding all the clutch packs your self special tools and set up gauges will cost more than the transmission not to even speak of replacing the torque converter because the lock up clutch in there is also worn.

It is a good deal because that is a good price and it'll take you from point a to point b. To be honest, it doesn't have the best quality, no offense or anything.
